"Art is not what you see, but what you make others see." Edgar Degas 1834-1917
"The eyes are the windows to the soul" is an old proverb suggesting that the eyes reveal much about a person's inner feelings, emotions, and life story. Many of my figurative paintings involve capturing people in candid moments, their body in natural positions, with expressions that offer a glimpse into their personal history. I hope to interpret not just a portrait of these individuals, but express insight into their lives, emotions and experiences in paint.
My landscape paintings often reflect new environments observed through travel, exploring the uniqueness of each area; its architecture, landscape, religion, history, food, clothing, culture and daily existence.
